COVID-19 Guidance

The A&FRC will continue to provide the same outstanding service our families deserve...virtually. We will adapt our services based on the Health Protection conditions put into effect by leadership. Currently, the staff is teleworking and ensuring all A&FRC programs are still available. Please call or email and provide a detailed message describing the service you are interested in receiving. Include a return phone number and DoD-ID number in your message and someone will return your call within one business day.

Transition Assistance Program (TAP)

To start your TAP process email your DoD ID# and Date of Separation/Retirement to

TAP Components:

  • Initial Counseling: must be completed NLT 365 days prior to DOS/DOR or ADSC expiration
  • Pre-Separation briefing: must be completed NLT 365 days prior to DOS/DOR or ADSC expiration
  • TAP Modules: Completed 12-18 months prior to DOS/DOR. Requirements determined by Tier assignment during Initial Counseling

    • Financial Planning for Transition
    • MOC Crosswalk
    • Managing Your Transition
    • DOL Employment Fundamentals of Career Transition
    • 2-day Tracks: Employment, Entrepreneurship, Education, and Vocational
  • Capstone: Completed NET 365 days and NLT 90 days prior to DOS/DOR

Air Force Families Forever

The Air Force Families Forever & Gold Star Families program provides long-term assistance and ensures family members remain connected to the larger Air Force family for as long as they desire.  Our mission is to provide resources, support and information to help survivors adapt to life without their loved one.

Exceptional Family Member Program

Along with OSN, the Air Force is committed to providing consistent, quality support to military special needs family members while striving to promote self-sufficiency and resiliency in the EFMP arena.

EFMP-FS is the community support function provided by A&FRC to enhance the quality of life of special needs family members.  The EFMP-FS program provides services to more than just active duty members and their families.  It is all encompassing and includes DoD military, DoD civilians, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, retirees, spouses of deployed members, contractors and personnel from other military branches of service.

Military Family Life Counselors (MFLC)

MFLC's are available to deliver short term, situational, problem-solving non-medical counseling services to all branches of the military and their families. MFLC support addresses issues that occur specifically within the military lifestyle and helps service members and their families cope with normal reactions to the stressful/adverse situations created by deployments and reintegration. The services of MFLCs are intended to augment existing military counseling services.

Military & Family Life Counselors offer:​

  • Completely confidential and private, except for duty-to-warn situations.
  • Flexible service delivery: Outreach/rotational and On-demand. The consultants rotate installations every 180 days and they operate on flexible hours.
  • Services can be provided on or off military installations. The consultants cannot meet you at your home or your car.
  • Services provided to individuals, couples, and families.
  • They are mandated reporters of child abuse, domestic abuse, and other duty-to-warn situations.

Readiness & Deployment

Our Family Readiness NCO can assist you and your family in preparing for deployment, unaccompanied remote tours, or TDYs more than 30 days. Information applies to single members, as well as those with dependents.

Survivor Benefits & Casualty Assistance

Our mission is to provide dignified compassionate and humane notification to family members and other designated persons as promptly as possible after a member is placed in a casualty status.

The Casualty Assistance Representative with place claims for all benefits including: SGLI, Death Gratuity and Survivor Benefit Pay.

Voting Assistance

The Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) works to ensure Service members, their eligible family members and overseas citizens are aware of their right to vote and have the tools and resources to successfully do so - from anywhere in the world.

FVAP assists voters through partnerships with the Military Services, Department of State, Department of Justice and election officials from 50 States, U.S. territories and the District of Columbia.

Emergency Financial Assistance

The Air Force Aid Society is the official charity of the U.S. Air Force and has been meeting the unique needs of Airmen and their families since 1942. AFAS works to support and enhance the USAF mission by providing emergency financial assistance, educational support and community programs.

Once your application is complete, call the A&FRC to set up an appointment.

We understand Offutt AFB is host to members from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. The A&FRC works closely with our sister emergency financial relief agencies to provide every service member stationed at or near Offutt AFB the opportunity to apply for assistance. If you are a non-Air Force service member please call the A&FRC for guidance in applying for assistance from your branch of service (qualifying factors vary with each branch of service).
