School Age Program (SAP)
The School Age Program, hosted by Youth Programs, is a before and after school service geared toward youth whose parent(s) work and have difficultly providing adequate transportation and supervision for their children 5 - 12 years of age. We provide the following services, transportation to and from school, quality supervision during the hours parent(s) are absent, a wide variety of recreational activities while children are enrolled in the program, and assistance with developing proper study habits. Only schools that are located in the surrounding Capehart Housing area are currently accessible to our service (Two Springs, Fort Crook, Peter Sarpy, Bellevue, Bellaire, Leonard Lawrence, Fairview, LeMay, St. Mary’s Bellevue, Golden Hills, Anderson Grove). A continuous waiting list is kept for parents to register for this program. Cost is based on the DoD uniformed fee structure. Field trips will be an additional charge. Nutritional meals and snacks are provided and professional staff conducts educational and entertaining programs. Hours are 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. For more info please call the Youth Programs at 294-5152.

Returning Home Care - view flyer
Returning Home Care (RHC) provides deployed parents with up to 16 hours of free child care for each child age 12 and under, open to all active duty, guard, and reserve airmen who deploy for a minimum of 30 calendar days (cumulative) in a six-month period in support of contingency operations. This care is for anything, including going out to dinner or taking care of personal business. However, it must be taken within six months of returning from deployment. Parent Advisory Board
The CDC Parent Advisory Board (PAB) is open to all patrons of the Airman and Family Services Flight. PAB meetings are an opportunity for parents to provide feedback on childcare and youth issues at Offutt. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Youth Center at 11:30 a.m. A free lunch is provided in appreciation of parental involvement. For more information, call 294-2203.
Parents As Teachers Heroes At Home
Parents as Teachers Heroes at Home is a free program dedicated to serving and supporting Military families with children prenatal to three years old. Through in-home visits, Parent Educators provide parent support and child development education. Monthly playgroups will also be offered. Snacks and crafts will be provided! If you live off-base and are a dependent of an active duty or retired military member, you can operate your own Family Child Care business in your home and be affiliated with the Offutt AFB Family Child Care Program. The benefits are substantial: use of Offutt FCC resource materials and equipment, training in child care, mentoring with other FCC providers, etc. For more information, an application, and to reserve your place in the training class, call the Family Child Care office at 294-9016 or 294-9017.

Family Child Care (FCC): Hourly rates are $3.50 - $6.00 for ages 2 weeks - 12 years. Call 294-9016 for enrollment requirements and hourly availability.
Offutt Enrichment Center - view flyer
The Offutt Enrichment Center offers a part-day preschool program for children 3-5 years of age. The program offers developmentally appropriate curriculum, monthly field trips, and special activities. The hours of operation are Tues. & Thurs. for the 3 yr. olds and Mon., Wed., Fri. for the 4 - 5 yr. olds, from 9 a.m. - Noon. The Offutt Enrichment Center’s part-day preschool program is holding fall registration for the 2010-11 school year at the Child Development Center II, located on-base at the corner of Bergquist Drive and Nelson Drive. Register from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. as long as spaces remain available. To enroll your child in the program you will need to bring your child’s current immunization record, leave and earnings statements for both working parents, child Tricare card, and military I.D. card. |
