SOS Attendance Policy Error on AU Website
AU posted the following items in error to its website: First error established SOS eligibility beginning at more than 5 years TAFCS. The second error stated, completion of SOS DL renders an officer ineligible to attend in residence. AU's website has been updated with the correct information. This notice is provided to help quell any further rumors.
Tuition Assistance Policy Change
Effective November 1, advance issuance of TA for Air Force personnel on active duty will be changed from 60 days to 30 days prior to the class start date. TA requests submitted prior to November 1 for classes that were more than 30 days in advance will be unchanged.

Health Professional Scholarships for Active Duty Officers & Cadets
Applications are now being accepted for Active Duty Officers and Cadets to compete for scholarships into an accredited Master of Physician Assistant Program (MPAS), beginning in FY2012. Post 911 GI Bill Overview
The Post-9/11 GI Bill provides financial support for education and housing to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. Veterans must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill. Approved training under the Post-9/11 GI Bill includes graduate and undergraduate degrees, and vocational/technical training. The Post-9/11 GI Bill will pay your tuition based upon the highest in-state tuition charged by a public educational institution in the state where the school is located. The Post-9/11 GI Bill also offers some service members the opportunity to transfer their 911 GI Bill to dependents. LEAP (Language Enable Airman Program)
LEAP is a new program to increase foreign language capability of Airmen. The objective of the program is to develop cross-culturally competent leaders across Air Force specialties that will have working level foreign language proficiency. The long-range goal is to have a core group of leaders with the skills to communicate in one or more of the languages listed on the Air Force Strategic Language List to meet global mission requirements . Currently the program is only open to officers, primarily with less than 7 years of service. However, the program is projected to open to enlisted personnel in approximately 18 months. Free Online Tutoring - visit site
The Defense Department has launched a free, online tutoring service for servicemembers and their families. The site offers round-the-clock professional tutors who can assist with homework, studying, test preparation, resume writing and more. Active-duty servicemembers, National Guard and reserve personnel on active duty in a deployed status, Defense Department civilians in a deployed status and their dependents are eligible to participate. Along with test preparation, the site is open to students of any age – from kindergartners to high school seniors – for one-on-one help in math, science, social studies and English.

ACC permanent DoD civilians assigned to 55th Wing units are now authorized to receive 75% of costs, not to exceed $187.50 per semester hour ($166.76 per quarter hour), to take job related courses that enhance the mission. Contact the Education Center for more information on eligibility and application guidelines. AAFES (294-9501), AFWA (232-2750), and USSTRATCOM (294-8543) have similar programs for their civilian employees; contact the provided numbers.
Building D Friday Closures
Building D has gone green! Education & Training is be closed every other Friday, and closing at 4 p.m. every other Thursday. New Customer Service hours: 0700 – 1700 Monday – Friday, 0700 – 1600 every other Thursday. Weekend classes will be conducted as usual. Operating hours may vary by school within the 0700 - 1700 window.
USAFE Driver’s License Test
Education & Training Services provides testing. Open to all Air Force members PCSing to Spangdahlem or Ramstein Air Bases.

Earn College Credit for Free
DANTES examination credits can be used to complete a CCAF and other undergraduate degrees. Exams are FREE to military members!
FAA Maintenance Testing
Offutt Education Services is now an FAA Testing Facility. Members holding aircraft maintenance AFSC (2AXXX) are eligible to participate in the Air Force A&P Certification Program. Benefits include 30 semester hours of collegiate credit via CCAF, professional & personal development, and civilian employment opportunities.
Free Intro to Culture CCAF course
Introduction to Culture (ITC) Course:
The Introduction To Culture (ITC) Course is an online, self-paced course which fulfills three resident hours of either Social Science or Program Elective credit required for the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) degree programs. Enrollment for the Spring 2012 ITC session will begin in early February and seating will be limited to 800 students.
