Smooth Move Program

Growing Your Money
This workshop is designed to help you realize your dreams by learning the financial skills necessary to maintain a spending plan, use checking and savings accounts, and build or repair credit.  This two-part class runs from 1-4 p.m. on February 7 and 14.

Heart Link provides essential information to spouses to make life in the Air Force fulfilling and rewarding.  Join us for a fun-filled day of interactive games, presentations, prizes, and more, on February 8, 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.  Navy, Marine, and Army spouses are cordially invited, too!  Childcare reimbursement, continental breakfast, and lunch are provided.  For more information and to register, call the Airman & Family Readiness Center.

DTAP
DTAP is a 2-hour briefing providing specialized information about the Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) Vocational Rehabilitation Program.  Service members who have or suspect they have a service-connected disability, an injury, or illness that was aggravated by military service should attend this briefing.  Contact the Airman and Family Readiness Center for more information or to sign up to attend on February 9, 9 a.m.

Transition Assistance Program
This program assists separating or retiring military members transitioning into civilian life.  The 3 1/2-day program runs from 1 - 4:30 p.m. on February 13, and 7:30 a.m .- 4:30 p.m. on February 14 - 16; and 1 - 4:30 p.m. on February 27, and 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on February 28 - March 1.

Sibling Success
This program presented by PTI Nebraska explores potential fears which brothers and sisters or classmates of a child with a disability might harbor.  A proactive approach is presented for use in the family or classroom when dealing with attitudes and character development toward a child who has a disability.  Contact the Airman and Family Readiness Center to sign up to attend on February 15, 9 - 10:30 a.m., at “The Pointe” in Rising View.

Families of the Deployed - view flyer

The Small Business Administration’s Nebraska District Office and the Nebraska Business Development Center will host an informative seminar which will help guide developing a successful business and how to leverage federal contracting opportunities available to veterans.  The seminar is scheduled for February 22, 6 - 8 p.m., in Bldg. Special Needs Resource Fair - view flyer
Learn more about all of the services on base and in the community that are available to our special needs families.  Families will be given an opportunity to visit directly with representatives from area agencies and businesses in a wide array of programs and services.  Over 60 local and base vendors will be in attendance!  Join us on April 19, 4 – 7 p.m. in the Lied Activity Center at 2700 Arboretum Dr., Bellevue.

PLAYpass Program Extension
The PLAYpass program has been extended through Dec. 31, 2012. The PLAYpass cards, valued at more than $500, allow eligible members to participate in Air Force Services activities such as trips, sports and childcare at either a reduced cost or free of charge. Eligible members include: single Airmen returning from deployments; families of deployed members; and families of members at dependent-restricted assignments. In order to extend the expiration date, current PLAYpass account holders should compile a list of PLAYpass accounts that need to be extended with the new expiration date and email it to linda.weston@us.af.mil. Military & Family Life Consultants
Military & Family Life Consultants are here to listen. MFLCs are available to help AF service members, spouses, children, and DoD civilians address issues related to deployment, reintegration, relationships, marriage, divorce, parenting, communication, family, stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and daily life. Consultations are free and confidential. No records are kept. Call 402-650-6427 to schedule an appointment.

The School Liaison Office
Located in the Airman & Family Readiness Center, the School Liaison Office connects schools, families and the Offutt AFB community together in meeting the educational needs of the military child and serves as a point of contact for all who desire assistance with school-related matters.  Contact our office to begin your relocation planning process for assistance with local public and private school information, or any other questions you may have regarding your child’s educational needs. Chase Blue Star Benefit Program - view flyer
The Blue Star Program offers eligible Air Force Club Credit Cardmembers a 100% full refund of interest and fees incurred during deployment.  Plus Blue Star allows joint and authorized users to continue using the credit card account while members are deployed to pay for basic living expenses.  There is no minimum or maximum deployment duration period and there is no restriction to the number of deployment periods for which a credit card member can request refund charges on an Account.
